THE MAKING
The door was standing in a corner of my garage since I moved in. I had not paid attention to it until I came up with the idea of having a full-sized door in the middle of my garden as part of my long term project with locks and doors. I cleaned the door and got to work.  

I choose two pictures (transformed into silhouettes) to paint on each side of the door. With the location for the door to be installed in mind I choose green as the background and the silhouettes in black. On one side I painted the silhouette of a young man (my son, from a picture I took in Singapore, December 2012)). On the other side I painted the silhouette of a young woman(my daughter, from a picture I took in Geneva, June 2012).

I bought treated beams that endure heat, cold and rain to support the door. I also bought a new lock. Two days before the installation moment I dug 50 cm deep pits to put the cement terminals in place.

THE INSTALLATION
On May 4, I asked my close friends Clemens and Attila to set up the door. Attila brought the tools and put the door into place with the assistance of Clemens. They worked for about two hours, just in time for the first Interaction that same day.
